TAMPA - A man who disappeared from his assisted living facility in North Tampa late Wednesday was found this morning.
Carl Seiden, 55, apparently walked away from The Fountains, 312 12th Ave., about 8 p.m., the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. Seiden suffers from dementia, the sheriff's office said.
He was found by Department of Elder Affairs workers, according to a department media release.
The employees employees found him when they arrived around 7 a.m. at the office on West Fletcher Avenue in Tampa, which is approximately two miles from the assisted living facility, according to the release. The employees noticed that Seiden was confused and bloody from an apparent fall. Seiden appeared to have spent the night sitting and lying on the damp grass in a short-sleeved shirt. Since the man could not say who he was or where he came from, the employees called 911 and he was soon transported safely to a local hospital.
Deputies have used a helicopter and foot patrols during the search.
