Yet another e-mail has surfaced from someone claiming to be an assassin hired to kill the e-mail recipient. However, the writer is willing to forgo the hit if the e-mail recipient agrees to pay him off.
This time, the e-mail has surfaced in Pinellas Park, according to the Pinellas Park Police Department. Previously, at least three copies of the e-mail turned up in Hernando County, according to News Channel 8.
In flawed English, the writer warns the e-mail recipient not to take the message for granted because it "has to do with your life," according to a copy provided by the Pinellas Park Police Department.
"IAM (sic) A PROFESSIONAL ASSASAIN (sic)," the e-mail reads. "Someone you know very well paid me to kill you."
The e-mail then goes on to say the assassin has been given partial payment for the hit, and that his airline flight has been arranged. However, the assassin then gives the e-mail recipient three days to contact him and negotiate some sort of agreement that would spare the e-mail recipient's life.
Donna Saxer of the Pinellas Park Police Department's crime prevention unit, has warned residents of the e-mail in a Dec. 30 e-mail of her own, though not without taking a few shots at the assassin.
Saxer categorizes the e-mail as part of a scheme.
"The bottom line in this scam is they are trying to get money out of you," Saxer wrote. "Note all of the punctuation mistakes and misspelled words in the email.
"I would think a 'professional assasain (sic)'' would at least know how to spell assassin correctly," Saxer wrote.
"My favorite part of the e-mail is how he writes that all of his details will remain undisclosed, but then he includes his name and email address," she said.
He signed the e-mail, Boris Briggs.
