Deputies Hoping Someone Recognizes Robber

Polk County sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect who robbed a Lake Wales convenience store.

A masked suspect with a handgun robbed the CITGO Store, 20500 U.S. Highway 27 at about 7:41 pm, on Wednesday.

Authorities said the suspect entered the store, walked up to the counter, pointed the firearm at the clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied.

The suspect left the store and walked in a northwest direction. He is described as a black male, approximately 5' 7" tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a white cloth mask, a grey hooded sweatshirt, and dark pants. Images of the suspect were captured on surveillance video.
