This Tebow Weighs 8.6 Pounds And Wears Diapers

CLEARWATER - Right about now, l'il Tebow is concerned only with his next feeding and where he's taking his afternoon nap and who's going to change his poopy diaper.

The newest Tebow is Logan Tebow Bradley, born Tuesday at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater and named for rifle-armed University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who is leading the Gators against the Oklahoma Sooners tonight at the Bowl Championship Series in Miami.

"I just thought, what a really cool way to give homage to my team and the quarterback," the proud dad, Tom Bradley, told News Channel 8 in the hospital this afternoon just before the family was sent home. "I thought this would be a really cool idea."

Dressed in a gray Gators T-shirt and blue UF hat, Tom says he usually goes all in on game day, complete with a painted face and all the Gator paraphernalia. He cradles his 2-day-old son, who wears a white jumper with "Florida" emblazoned across the front in big orange letters.

The timing was perfect, he says.

"We were hoping for a birth after the game," he says, grinning. "I told her the 6th, 7th or 9th would be great, but try not to do it on the 8th."

On Monday night, mom-to-be Nicole (from Ohio), who had the final say on the first name, began having contractions. At 4:12 a.m. Tuesday, out came Logan Tebow, weighing 8.6 pounds and measuring 21 inches.

His wingspan wasn't disclosed, and his time in the 40-yard dash has yet to be recorded.

Emerging into the world a few days before the national championship game gave l'il Logan Tebow a chance to catch all the pre-game hype and familiarize himself with the rest of the team before kickoff tonight, his dad says. "He can't see anything from inside."

The birth is a good omen for Gator fans, his dad says.

"It's a sign," he predicts. "A winning sign."
