MIAMI - The University of Florida Gators won their second BCS Championship in three seasons Thursday night, defeating the Oklahoma Sooners 24-14 in a battle of wills.
Florida quarterback Tim Tebow threw two touchdown passes, including a 4-yard jump pass to David Nelson with 3:07 left that sealed the victory.
Tebow ran 22 times for 108 yards and completed 18 of 30 passes for 231 yards. He threw two interceptions but was the heart of Florida's night.
The Gators finished the season 13-1, equaling the most victories in school history. Their only other 13-win season came during the 2006 national championship season.
