911 System Restored In Manatee County

Manatee's 911 system is back up.

The 911 system crashed at about 2 p.m. today and was down until about 3:20 p.m.

While the system was down, those with emergencies in Manatee County were asked to dial an alternate number and ask for an emergency dispatcher, or to flag down any emergency vehicle.

No word yet on what caused the system to crash.
