Police Identify Man Killed In Citrus County Head-On Crash

Police have released the identity of a man killed in a head-on collision in Citrus County on Thursday.

Paul James McDermott II, 41, of Beverly Hills, was killed after his car veered into oncoming traffic on County Road 491 near U.S. 41, police said. He died at the scene. His identity was withheld Thursday pending notification of relatives.

Krystal McCracken, 19, of Crystal River, was heading north on County Road 491 when McDermott's car slammed into her vehicle shortly before 7:30 a.m.

She was in serious condition at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
