NEW YORK - Brett Favre is going to take his time before deciding whether to return with the New York Jets next season.
The 39-year-old quarterback told ESPN on Thursday he's following the advice of Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum by not making a hasty decision on his future.
"He said he's not going to bother me for three or four weeks," Favre said. "He told me to do whatever, and he'd give me a call in a month. Maybe I will tell him my answer that day. But he told me to get away and don't even think about football."
Bucs Sign Moore, 9 Other Players
TAMPA - The Bucs haven't given up on Dre Moore just yet.
Moore, a 2008 fourth-round draft pick who was cut after training camp, was one of 10 players signed to new contracts by the Bucs on Thursday.
The others signed to new deals were offensive tackles Anthony Alabi and Julius Wilson, cornerbacks Kyle Arrington and Greg Fassitt, kicker Shane Andrus, defensive tackle Chris Bradwell, defensive end Louis Holmes, linebacker Jamall Johnson and tight end Jason Pociask.
Moore, a defensive tackle out of Maryland, spent the 2008 season on the Bucs practice squad. Arrington, Fassitt, Pociask and Wilson were on the Bucs practice squad at the end of the year as well.
BRONCOS: Team owner Pat Bowlen wrapped up his first round of interviews for the head coaching vacancy Thursday when he met with Dolphins secondary coach Todd Bowles.
BROWNS: Former Jets coach Eric Mangini, 37, now has his dream job, the one he had a tough time convincing his mom was remotely possible when he came to Cleveland 14 years ago.
"I was a 23-year-old ballboy and I had to explain that to my mother," said Mangini, who signed a four-year contract. "I had student loans and it was a hard sell. I kept telling her, 'Mom, this is the Cleveland Browns. Do you understand? THE Cleveland Browns.'"
LIONS: Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier will interview today for Detroit's head coaching job.
