DELAND - Kevin Tiggs scored 26 points to lead East Tennessee State to a 73-67 win over Stetson on Saturday.
Tiggs, who entered as the second-leading scorer in the Atlantic Sun Conference with 20.4 points a game, made 7 of 15 shots from the floor and 11 of 13 free throws for the Buccaneers (11-4, 5-0).
Mike Smith added 17 points, and Isiah Brown chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds for East Tennessee State.
Garfield Blair paced Stetson (6-8, 3-3) with 22 points and had eight rebounds, but the Buccaneers dominated the boards — 44-31. A.J. Smith had 14 points and Kris Thomas added 10 for Stetson, but combined for only four points in the second half after the Hatters led 40-36 at halftime.
East Tennessee State opened the second half with an 11-2 run to go ahead 47-42. Stetson got within a point three times before the Buccaneers again pulled away.
