FORT MYERS - Kyle Marks and Reggie Chambers scored 16 points each as Florida Gulf Coast defeated South Carolina-Upstate 80-56 in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Saturday.
Florida Gulf Coast (7-10, 3-3) won its fifth straight home game and second straight Atlantic Sun game.
Delvin Franklin and Reed Baker both added 11 points for the Eagles while Ed Rolax added a career-high 10 points. Josh Chavis had 18 points and Bobby Davis added 10 for SC-Upstate (2-12, 1-4).
SC-Upstate jumped out to a 10-4 advantage but Florida Gulf Coast regained the lead 13-12 on a layup by Baker. That was part of a 14-2 run that gave the Eagles a 22-14 lead.
Florida Gulf Coast led 38-24 at halftime. Chambers, who had three 3-pointers, scored 11 points in the first half along with Marks.
SC-Upstate lost its ninth straight road game.
In the second half, Florida Gulf Coast kept building its margin to 62-41, 70-44 and 77-49.
Helped by 52.6 percent shooting (10-of-19) in the first half, the Eagles hit 46.3 for the game (25-of-54). Florida Gulf Coast also made 22-of-27 free throws and committed just 14 turnovers, five in the first half. They had a 21-14 edge in assists.
USC-Upstate shot just 36 percent (18-of-50) and 4-of-22 on 3-pointers. They made just 16-of-28 free throws and were outrebounded 40-33.
