Two passengers in a 30-foot sport boat were rescued about 3 p.m. Saturday in the Gulf of Mexico off John's Pass by a "Good Samaritan" fishing vessel, a U.S. Coast Guard spokesman said.
Thomas Haynes of Dover and another passenger whose name was not available were picked up after reporting their boat was taking on water, Chief Petty Officer Joshua Black said.
The Coast Guard responded with a vessel from Sand Key, but the two were safe when they arrived in about 40 minutes, Black said.
