HELP FOR KIDS WHO STUTTER: The University of South Florida is hosting Youth Day for Kids Who Stutter from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Jan. 17. Sponsored by USF's Speech-Language Pathology Program, the event will bring together kids who stutter and boost their confidence through self-help activities. Parents and speech clinicians from the school systems will also attend. Cost is $10 for parents and children and $15 for speech and language students. A pizza lunch will be served for $3. ALZHEIMER'S STUDY: The Johnnie B. Byrd Sr. Alzheimer's Center & Research Institute, located on the University of South Florida's Tampa campus, is enrolling volunteers to test a medication in controlling progression of Alzheimer's. Participants must be between 50 and 88, diagnosed with mild to moderate Alzheimer's and have a caregiver willing to be involved in the study. Call (813) 319-4115.
