A 20-year-old Plant City man was arrested and charged with armed carjacking, false imprisonment and aggravated battery Friday night, the Plant City Police Department reported.
Tyrone Dwayne Hunter, 503 S. Waters St., faces charges in connection with the incident at 7:15 p.m. Friday in which he is accused of approaching a female from behind, striking her in the head with a .38 caliber handgun, and grabbing the keys to a 2006 Chrysler at 1302 S. Collins St in Plant City, a police report stated.
The suspect allegedly took the woman's handbag and a work bag before fleeing in the vehicle, the report said. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office found and arrested the suspect around 9 p.m. Friday.
The victim suffered minor injuries, the report said.
