The first of a couple cold fronts looks to be washing toward the Tampa Bay area later today and overnight. Forecasters don't peg this one with bringing a huge drop in temperatures with the highs Monday and Tuesday maybe in the middle 60s.

The real chill is expected to be here around the middle of the week and weekend when Hillsborough residents may see morning temperatures in the high 30s.

But it does look like it's going to bring some rain starting tonight and lasting into Tuesday. That's because forecasts have the front stalling and settling in over West Central Florida until then. The rain chances range from 20 to 40 percent.

Some of that rain may show up to the north around Hernando County later today. About an hour after sunrise, the front was near the Big Bend area.

By Wednesday morning, the colder air should arrive and forecasts around Tampa call for temperatures in the low 40s or high 30s.

Lows should hover in that neighborhood each morning through Saturday morning as the coming front gets reinforcement from another. The daytime highs should be in the 60s, a bit below normal for this time of year but not much.

There should be plenty of sun starting Wednesday.

Wednesday morning could begin a string of four mornings at freezing or below to folks in Hernando and colder sections of eastern Pasco with temperatures in the low 30s and 20s.

So far, Saturday morning looks to be the coldest of the bunch with lows around 36 in Hillsborough and 26 in Hernando.

The Saturday forecast is a bit too far in the future to cement in those temperatures yet. And until today, model runs have been scattered on the timing of when the fronts will show up.
