RUSSIA - The latest word on a helicopter crash in Siberia is that seven people were killed, including a Russian lawmaker.
Russian officials were earlier quoted as saying eight people died. They also say four people survived.
The helicopter was carrying a group of Russian officials on a hunting trip. The victims include Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's representative in the lower house of parliament.
The chopper went missing Friday in the border region near Mongolia. The RIA-Novosti news agency says a surviving pilot walked up to 25 miles across snowy mountains to a border checkpoint, where
he reported the crash.
Rescuers located the wreckage earlier today after an extensive search.
The cause of the crash is believed to be engine failure.
