Hillsborough Deputy Involved In Crash On Dover Road

A Hillsborough County sheriff's deputy suffered minor injuries this morning in a head-on collision at Dover Road near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, deputies say.
The sheriff's office says Deputy Ed Anctil, 51, was northbound on Dover about a half-mile north of Sydney-Dover Road when he suffered a sudden stomach pain that caused his patrol car to cross the center line and collide with a Ford pickup truck.
Anctil, a 21-year veteran of the sheriff's office, was taken by ambulance to University Community Hospital.
The man driving the pickup was taken by ambulance to Brandon Regional Hospital. He had complained of neck and back pain.
In both cases, the injuries were described as not life-threatening.
A female passenger in the truck was not injured.
