The man who was killed in St. Petersburg Sunday evening when his sport utility vehicle went out of control has been identified as Trent Anton Evans, 33, of Clearwater, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a press release this morning.
Evans was driving a 2004 Kia sport utility vehicle on 34th Street North at about 8:12 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, the FHP said. It rotated sideways and struck some metal poles and a chain link fence before it overturned and collided with two unoccupied cars at 4899 34th St. N., the patrol said.
Evans died at the scene.
The wreck has been described as alcohol-related. Evans was wearing his seat belt, the FHP said.
