Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies have arrested four high-school age students accused of robbing a group of teens on Jan. 4.
Mark Nunez, 18, Jose Torres, 17, and Ronald Russell and Tony Moreira, both 16, have each been charged with four counts of armed robbery, battery and grand theft, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Nunez, Torres, Russell and Moreira were arrested on Thursday at their homes. Deputies say the quartet attacked two teen boys and two teen girls on a nature trail in the Fishhawk community about 10 p.m. on Jan. 8.
The teens walking on the trail were threatened with a large knife and two of the victims were punched in the face, deputies say. The victims' cell phones and money were taken. When the victims tried to run away, they were tackled and beaten again, deputies say.
