Bike Rider Hurt In Crash On Countryside Blvd.

CLEARWATER - An elderly man on a bicycle collided with a pickup truck this afternoon, prompting authorities to close the westbound lanes of Countryside Boulevard at U.S. 19 while they investigate, Clearwater officials said.
The injuries to the man were described as life-threatening, said Elizabeth Watts, Clearwater's public safety spokeswoman. The man was taken by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center.
The Countryside Boulevard lanes are expected to be closed for at least an hour.
