Cut Benefits To Folks Here Illegally

Our legislators are presently deciding on cuts to accommodate the reduced income due to the recession. Undoubtedly the old and sick will, as usual, bear the brunt of these reductions.

What I don't understand is why eliminating benefits to people in our country illegally is not even considered. I can understand why these people want to come here, but I can't understand why we allow them to take much-needed jobs, and why I must pay for their welfare and educate their children.

Several other states are studying this question, and I certainly think Florida should include this on the agenda.
