A man, a teenager and a 12-year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a carjacking in Largo in which the owner of a van taken at gunpoint was driven to an ATM and forced to withdraw $600, Largo police said.

The man and the teenager have also been charged in an incident that took place the following day, in which they tried to rob three people at a home but were scared off by a large dog, according to Lt. Mike Loux of the Largo police department.

The suspects have been identified as Kendrick Imani Norwood, 22, David Leandrew Jones, 15, and Juantavis Westley, 12.

Norwood, who lives in St. Petersburg, was booked into Pinellas County Jail on Monday evening on two counts of robbery and one count each of kidnapping and carjacking. He was being held on $400,000 bail.

Jones was also charged with the same crimes. Westley was charged with only count of robbery as police say he wasn't involved in the second incident.

According to Loux, on Dec. 18, at 2:15 a.m., a nurse at the Belleair East Healthcare Center on Ponce De Leon Avenue was sitting in her van during one of her breaks when she was approached by three male subjects.

She was forced into the back seat at gunpoint, then driven to an ATM, where she was forced to withdraw $600, Loux said. She was then left behind as the suspects drove away in her van, he said.

The following day, at 6:38 p.m., three people were returning to their residence on 16th Avenue Southwest when they were approached by a male suspect who had just left a van nearby, Loux said.

The suspect pulled out a handgun and told the trio to get on the ground and give him their jewelry, Loux said. One of the victims, however, was going into the house as the suspect approached and let out a large dog, Loux said.

The robber got scared and leaped onto the roof of one of the victim's cars, which gave the three victims the opportunity to take off and call police. The robber eventually made it back to the van awaiting him and fled, Loux said.
