Freeze Shelters To Open Tonight In Tampa Bay Area

TAMPA - Freeze shelters will open tonight in Hillsborough County for the homeless and those without proper heating in their homes.

The shelters are at:

• Salvation Army, 1514 N. Florida Ave. It is for adults only; call (813) 221-4440.

• Metropolitan Ministries, 2010 N. Florida Ave. It is for families; call (813) 209-1077 after 5 p.m.

• Good Samaritan Mission at Bethune Park, 5809 Edina St., in Wimauma. It is for adults and families; call (813) 671-7618.

Metropolitan Ministries and the Salvation Army open at 4 p.m., and Good Samaritan opens at 6 p.m.

The shelters will remain open until 8 a.m. Thursday. Meals will be provided.

In Hernando County, the Jericho Road Ministries shelter will be open.

In Pasco County, the following shelters will be open:

• Holy Ground Homeless Shelter, 8835 Denton Ave. in Hudson. Hot meals and transportation are available. Call (727) 863-9123.

• Impact Family Church, 6416 Delaware Ave. in New Port Richey. Doors open at 6 p.m.
