TAMPA - Tampa International Airport ranked 10th in on-time departure performance and 16th in on-time arrivals performance in November in a ranking of the nation's 23 major airports by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Tampa International reported 87.6 percent of its flights departed within 15 minutes of schedule, the DOT's guideline for on-time flights, and 84 percent arrived on-time in November in data released today.
Nationwide flight performance improved in November, with an average 83.3 percent on-time arrival rate compared with 80 percent a year ago.
Salt Lake City had the best performance for both arrivals and departures; Newark Liberty International Airport was the worst in both categories.
