The trial of Tyrone Lamont Grimes, accused of killing a bystander in a Brandon bar scuffle, was delayed today until March.
Grimes is charged with killing Karen Williams, a 36-year-old mother of three, when three shots were fired inside Fluid, a nightclub at 2016 Town Center Blvd.
Hillsborough County Circuit Judge Daniel H. Sleet set the new trial date for March 30. It was to begin next week but both prosecutors and the defense said they wouldn't be ready and needed additional time to interview witnesses and analyze evidence.
Grimes, 28, has denied firing the fatal shot. He has said he was attacked by two other men and the gun discharged during the struggle.
He has been in jail since his bond was revoked in September when authorities accused him of threatening a witness and smoking marijuana.
