Woman Dies In Sarasota House Fire; Man Able To Escape

A 59-year-old woman died this morning in a Sarasota house fire.

Sarasota County deputies and firefighters responded to the blaze about 6:43 a.m. at 4913 Habana Drive.

A man escaped the fire, but Janice K. Engman was unable to, and her body was found in the rear of the home, a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office news release states.

The fire remains under investigation.
