WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush plans to spend his final weekend in office at Camp David in Maryland.
He plans to leave Washington on Tuesday for his home in Texas, where he will focus on a presidential library and Freedom Center at Southern Methodist University.
Bush has named former aide Mike Meece to run day-to-day life after Washington.
"I'm probably going to write a book. ... I'm interested in HIV-AIDS, help dealing with HIV-AIDS on the continent of Africa, dealing with the malaria initiative that we started on the continent of Africa," the president said on "Larry King Live" Tuesday. "I'm interested in good ocean policy. I like my mountain bikes. I like national parks. There will be a lot of things to do."
Bush will have a farewell lunch for senior aides today.
