PORT CHARLOTTE - The Rays already are a hot ticket on the Grapefruit League circuit.
The team announced Thursday that reserved seats at the Charlotte Sports Park are sold out for the entire 16-game spring training schedule. There are around 5,100 reserved seats in the refurbished park, about 3,000 of which have been sold as part of spring season-ticket packages.
A limited number of those packages, which start at $240, are still available, but anyone else hoping to take in a game this spring will either be sitting on a grass berm (about 1,000 of those $9 tickets will be sold for each game) or standing on the boardwalk that runs the length of the outfield fence.
Fans can still buy tickets for most Rays road games; the only ones sold out are meetings with Boston on March 8 and 31 in Fort Myers.
