Tampa - The executive producer of Daytime, a variety show which appears weekday mornings on WFLA-TV, was arrested early this morning on charges of driving under the influence.
April Wilson, 34, of 834 Bayou View Dr. in Brandon was arrested near the intersection of Hillsborough and Florida avenues, according to jail records.
A test indicated she had a blood alcohol content of .141 and .147. The state of Florida presumes intoxication at .08.
Wilson was speeding and could not stay in her lane on Hillsborough Avenue, according to a police report.
According to the report:
Wilson was driving about 55 mph or 60 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Wilson was pulled over. An officer smelled alcohol on her breath and said she had slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
She performed a videotaped field sobriety test, which showed signs of impairment.
Wilson did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.
She was released from the Orient Road Jail at 9:17 a.m. on a $500 bond.
"We are obviously disappointed in the action and will take the necessary steps to help her and to make sure she gets proper care," said WFLA general manager Michael Pumo.
