TAMPA - A 21-year-old Tampa man has been indicted on a charge he threatened to kill President-elect Barack Obama.
Nathan G. Wine turned himself in to Tampa police Thursday night on a Polk County warrant charging grand theft of a firearm, according to records. Wine is accused of stealing a shotgun from Elizabeth M. Barker of Lakeland on Jan. 3.
In a telephone interview Friday, Barker said Wine, who dated her daughter, had used her computer. She said the Secret Service has seized her computer.
Barker said Wine used her computer to send an e-mail to the Secret Service threatening Obama. Barker didn't know the content of the e-mail but said Wine signed it.
No more details were immediately available about the threat Wine is accused of making the day after Obama was elected.
