MOBILE, Ala. - For the first time since joining the NFL, Davin Joseph, Jeremy Trueblood and Arron Sears will work for an offensive line coach other than Bill Muir.
Muir, who joined the Bucs' staff between Tony Dungy's dismissal and Jon Gruden's arrival, was one of six assistant coaches released Sunday as Coach Raheem Morris and General Manager Mark Dominik began the task of reshaping the coaching staff.
Also let go were offensive assistant Jay Gruden, assistant offensive line coach George Yarno, defensive quality control coaches Johnny Cox and Ejiro Evero and strength coach Mike Morris.
Seven coaches, including running backs coach Richard Bisaccia, defensive line coach Todd Wash, receivers coach Richard Mann and quarterbacks coach Greg Olson, survived the purge. Their status remains uncertain, however, because the Bucs have yet to hire an offensive or defensive coordinator.
The Bucs already have begun the search for coordinators and are believed to have conducted some interviews, possibly with defensive coordinator candidate Gary Gibbs, formerly of the Saints.
It is believed the Bucs might have some interest in talking to coaches who were still working Sunday, such as Eagles quarterbacks coach Pat Shurmur, Eagles secondary coach Sean McDermott and Ravens assistant Vic Fangio.
The Bucs are expected to continue the search and possibly the interview process this week in Mobile, where the remnants of their staff have assembled to scout Senior Bowl workouts.
