Port Authority OKs Addition To Channelside Garage

TAMPA - Tampa Port Authority commissioners this morning approved a maximum construction price of $13.3 million for a 720-space addition to the Channelside Parking Garage.

The work is scheduled to be completed within 16 months of finalizing the contract with Oklahoma-based Manhattan Construction Co., which has a Tampa office.

The commissioners also approved spending $2 million on property, general and marine liability insurance policies from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31 with a group of seven firms arranged by Brown & Brown, of
Tampa and Daytona Beach.

That figure could be negotiated as much as 10 percent lower pending a port authority review of its property, officials said.
