A 32-year-old drug dealer who authorities say is an associate of the Bloods gang was sentenced today in federal court to 21 years and 10 months in prison, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
Durwood Milton Gwyn pleaded guilty Oct. 9 to possession and distribution of 5 grams or more of crack cocaine, prosecutors say.
On Feb. 22, 2008, Gwyn sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant and was immediately arrested, according to court documents. Investigators found Gwyn to be in possession of an additional 41 grams of crack cocaine.
Prosecutors call Gwyn a career criminal with previous drug-related convictions, including possession of cocaine with intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school.
