BROOKSVILLE - After smelling marijuana inside the pickup he had just pulled over, a deputy asked the driver to step out of the vehicle.
Before a pat-down, the driver, Lemon Neal Jr., truthfully told the deputy Tuesday afternoon that he had no marijuana on his person. The deputy did, however, discover two plastic bags holding cocaine in Neal's pockets, an affidavit states.
After his arrest, the deputy searched Neal's pickup and said he found a marijuana cigarette in the cup holder, a black zippered pouch holding crack cocaine and a plastic bag in the glove box with powder cocaine. Neal said he'd been using drugs since his retirement, an affidavit states.
Neal, 47, of 22556 Jacobson Road, was charged for the drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
