TAMPA - For the second day in a row, Hillsborough County firefighters are tackling a house fire with no hydrant nearby.
The vacant house at 12705 Waltham Ave., off of Gunn Highway in Carrollwood, caught fire just after 4:10 a.m. today, Capt. Bruce Delk said.
There are no hydrants in the area, and firefighters are using water tenders and fire engines to supply the water.
There is extensive damage to the wood-frame house, Delk said. No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
On Tuesday, firefighters battled an abandoned house fire in Ruskin. The closest fire hydrant was a mile away, which made that fire difficult to fight, Delk said. That fire is also under investigation.
