Newly merged with Wachovia Bank, Wells Fargo has named a new leader for its Florida operations.
Shelley Freeman will be Wells Fargo's regional president of community banking in Florida, where she will lead the bank's retail, small business and business banking operations. She comes to Florida from Los Angeles, where she led the bank's regional operations and was national co-leader for its affluent customer support strategy. She will be based in Miami.
Based in San Francisco, Wells Fargo's merger with Charlotte, N.C.-based Wachovia became official Dec. 31. Wells Fargo has nearly 11,000 locations nationwide and has about $1.4 trillion in assets.
