Walt Disney World is scheduled to open its Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure on Jan. 28 at seven Epcot pavilions, allowing guests to become secret agents and partner with Team Possible members "to save the world from comical villains and their mad inventions."
The interactive attraction is based on Disney Channel's Emmy-winning animated "Kim Possible" series. It tells the story of an average high school cheerleader, Kim Possible, who tries to save the world from super villains and learns that fighting them actually is easier than coping with a teenager's peer pressures.
Guests can play the new adventure in Epcot's Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France and United Kingdom pavilions. Each pavilion will feature a different mission and villain from the TV series.
"We are constantly exploring new ways to provide immersive experiences to Epcot guests, and this new offering will add to our dynamic portfolio," said Jim MacPhee, Epcot vice president.
Guests use an interactive, hand-held "Kimmunicator," obtained from kiosks throughout the theme park, to maneuver through the mission. The device connects guests with a variety of "Kim Possible" characters who provide clues to stop villains from taking over the world.
In addition, the interactive devices allow guests to control "top-secret equipment" hidden inside the Epcot pavilions.
Actor Ricardo Montalban, who died last week, is the voice of the villainous Senor Senior Sr. During the game, Epcot guests must save the world from Montalban's character.
"Kim Possible" has led to numerous Walt Disney Co. spinoffs. Those include Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable characters at Disney Parks & Resorts, DVDs, books, video games and Disney Consumer Product's line of "Kim Possible" products available at retailers nationwide.
