TAMPA - Florida huddles for warmth on another frigid morning, but residents can expect a slight thaw today.
Temperatures will hit the freeze mark north of Tampa but begin to climb to about 70 by Friday afternoon.
Strawberry growers will begin assessing crop damage today but appeared to avoid serious damage Wednesday morning when plummeting temperatures forced them to turn on sprinklers.
Freeze watches and warnings affected the entire state Wednesday night, the first time since January 2003.
The freeze poses a threat to the state's agriculture, including the winter vegetable belt near the Everglades, but it may take days to determine damage.
