MOON LAKE - Moon Lake Elementary School is in the market for a principal - again.
Cara Allen, who became the school's principal five months ago, has submitted her resignation after accepting a job in a school district in her home state of New Jersey, Assistant Superintendent of Schools Dave Scanga said.
Allen, whose last day on the job will be in February, came to Moon Lake in August after the previous principal, Susan Barcellino, left after about four months.
Barcellino had moved to Pasco County from Collier County in March for the Moon Lake job, and she resigned in July to return to Collier County.
The Pasco County School District is advertising for a principal. The job has a salary range of $71,445 to 108,704.
Scanga said the departures of Allen and Barcellino were just a case of individuals making personal decisions and not an indication of any problems at Moon Lake Elementary.
Before Barcellino, the principal at Moon Lake was Donna Busby, who was there about six years.
Busby left to become principal of a new Pasco County school, Veterans Elementary, which opened in Wesley Chapel in August.
