Woman Accused Of Causing Teen's Overdose

BROOKSVILLE - A Spring Hill woman is accused of having sex with a teenager and supplying him with the prescription drugs that led to his overdose.
The suspect, Joan Dewey, 31, admitted to sex on "several occasions" with the 17-year-old boy during an interview with detectives at the sheriff's office, an affidavit states.
She also admitted to giving him her prescription drugs, including the night the alleged victim was taken to Spring Hill Regional Hospital for an overdose, an affidavit states.
Dewey, of 8357 Omaha Circle, was charged Wednesday with sexual battery, aggravated child abuse and possession of a controlled substance.
