SPRING HILL - A ninth-grader at Springstead High School admitted to detectives Wednesday that he committed "dozens" of vehicle break-ins over the winter holidays, authorities said.
There were only a few he could remember specifically, though, so detectives chose to charge him for those. Seven of the burglaries happened Dec. 28 in driveways on Baylor Street, Bevens Road, Tassel Street and Blythville Road.
The 15-year-old suspect, charged as a juvenile, said he stole a variety of electronics, sunglasses, cologne and a mobile scooter worth $1,350, according to an affidavit.
Three other burglaries happened Nov. 15 in driveways on Benrock Road. The teen reportedly stole golf clubs worth $600, $50 in cash and a prescription bottle containing Xanax.
Following his interview, the suspect was charged with 10 counts of burglary.
