A North Port man faces felony charges for an alleged drunken attack on a group of teenagers, according to a police report.

Scott Chapman, 32, of the 3000 block of Circleville St., reportedly drove to the corner of Hamilton Avenue and Eagle Pass Street at about 6:15 p.m. Thursday and confronted a group of teenagers who were hanging out there. Chapman, 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, allegedly told the youths, "I run this neighborhood. I'm the baddest redneck you have ever seen," punched one of the teenagers in the face and threw the teenager's bicycle.

Police said he tried to drive into the group of teenagers, before again boasting and punching one of them in the face.

No one was seriously hurt. Police documents listed the victims as 15 and 17 years old. Chapman was arrested at the scene. He is being held in Sarasota County Jail without bail on charges of aggravated assault, child abuse and disorderly intoxication.
