Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Dog

A 53-year-old man was killed Saturday when he crashed his motorcycle into a tree alongside Main Street, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Nolan Thorsteinson, of 8305 N. Grove View Place, was driving east on Main at 5:14 p.m. when a Labrador retriever ran in front of his motorcycle. Thorsteinson hit the dog, lost control of the bike and smashed into a tree just west of State Road 579.
Thorsteinson died at the scene. The dog was also killed.
