Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Truck

ST. PETERSBURG - A pedestrian pushing a bicycle died after being struck by a truck Friday night in St. Petersburg.
A witness says James Allen, 54, didn't check to see if there was oncoming traffic when he stepped in front of Ford pickup driven by Brian Aldrich. Aldrich attempted to stop his vehicle before striking Allen but couldn't, according to a St. Petersburg Police report.
Allen was transported to Bayfront Medical Center where he later died.
The investigation into the accident is continuing, according to the report.
