Polk County deputies are investigating an armed robbery Friday afternoon at a store in Fort Meade.

About 4:45 p.m., two men entered Qwikway Food Store, 724 E. Broadway Ave. One had a gun, and the other had a knife, deputies say.

One of the suspects cut two people with knives, causing superficial cuts, a Polk County Sheriff's Office news release states. The other suspect pistol whipped a person.

The deputies took money and fled southeast from the store.

The suspect with the gun is a Hispanic man in his mid-20s. He is about 5-foot-7, weighs about 150 pounds and wore a black cap with lettering that says "POLICE." He also wore a red turtleneck and jeans.

The suspect with the knife is in his 20s. He is about 5-foot-6, weighs about 130 pounds and wore a knitted cap, plaid shirt and jeans.

Those with information can call deputies at (863) 534-6200.
