Grading The Fan's Guide

I enjoyed reading your special pull-out section "The Official NFL Experience Fan's Guide" on Jan. 23. Like many other Tampa Bay-area residents, I am beginning to get caught up in the events surrounding the upcoming Super Bowl here. Hosting this year's Super Bowl is giving Tampa Bay yet another chance to shine in the nation's spotlight.

Although I am quite familiar with most of the state's colleges and universities, I was a little stumped to come up with the answer to question no. 14 of the Tampa Bay football trivia: What is the University of Tampa Bay's nickname?

I can't say that I am aware of the University of Tampa Bay. The answers given to choose from were: A. the Bulls (USF), B. the Falcons, C. the Tigers and D. the Spartans (UT). Imagine my surprise when I checked the answer key to find that UTB's nickname is also the Spartans.

If I were a member of UT's faculty, I would have to give the Tribune's research staff the same letter grade as the answer I found: D.
