Marine Corps Pvt. Madeline M. Vonderheide graduated from the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C., Dec. 5 after 12 weeks of boot camp. Vonderheide is a 2008 graduate of Wesley Chapel High School.

Army Pvt. Carlos M. Muniz has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Johmary Melendez of Land O' Lakes and a 2008 graduate of Land O' Lakes High School.

Army Pfc. Karl A. McPeak has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

He is the son of Kenneth and Karen McPeak of Wesley Chapel.

Army Pvt. Daniel F. Prieto has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

Prieto is the son of Martha and the stepson of Eduardo Espinosa of Wesley Chapel.

Army National Guard Sgt. Joseph P. Ragusa has been mobilized and activated for deployment overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The sergeant, a chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear specialist with seven years of military service, is normally assigned to the 178th Military Police Company out of Monroe, Ga.

He is the son of Adele R. Ragusa of Port Richey.
