Bulls Are No Match For Hoyas' Hot Hands

TAMPA - Jaleesa Butler scored 26 points, including 14 in the second half, and Georgetown shot 59 percent from the field on its way to a 86-68 victory against South Florida at the Sun Dome on Saturday evening

Georgetown (13-6, 3-3 Big East) took control of the game with a 10-0 run for a 31-19 lead with 6:23 to play in the first half.

South Florida (15-6, 2-5) was able to cut the lead to seven at halftime, but never got closer as the Hoyas pulled away early in the second half. Janae Stokes led the Bulls with 14 points, and Jessica Lawson, Shantia Grace and Jazmine Sepulveda each had 13.

CINCINNATI - Maya Moore scored 18 points, and Connecticut's energized defense allowed only seven points in the first half as the top-ranked Huskies (19-0, 5-0 Big East) stayed perfect with victory over Cincinnati (13-6, 3-3).

LAWRENCE, Kan. - Marlies Gipson scored 23 points and Ashley Sweat had 19 to lead No. 18 Kansas State (17-1, 3-1 Big 12) past Kansas (12-6, 1-4), tying the school record with its ninth road win.

MELBOURNE - Kym Taylor scored 22 points, and Tiara Cook and Angela Guiu each added 10 as Tampa (13-4, 4-3) moved back above .500 in the Sunshine State Conference with victory against Florida Tech (14-4, 3-4).

SAINT LEO - Stephanie Sarosi scored 23 points and added 13 rebounds and five blocks as Nova Southeastern (7-10, 3-4) kept Saint Leo (7-10, 0-8) winless in the Sunshine State Conference.
