TAMPA - A fire blamed on overloaded electric circuits caused about $150,000 in damage to a sushi restaurant on Dale Mabry Highway on Sunday morning.
Tampa police answered a burglar alarm at the Matoi Sushi bar about 7:45 a.m. and saw smoke coming from the building at 602 N. Dale Mabry Highway.
Fire crews saw smoke in the eves and broke into the building, bringing the fire under control about 8:30 a.m.
The fire started in a wall between the front of the business and kitchen.
The fire inspector blamed the fire on an electrical overload, according to Tampa Fire Rescue.
