TAMPA - The Super Bowl is a big event for the bay area, drawing athletes and fans to Tampa.
But it is also inspiring others to give back to the community.
Habitat for Humanity is building four homes for in a week for four single mothers.
"I am going to be a homeowner my mortgage is going to be afforable so I can move on with my life and make it better for my daughter and myself," said Nancy Black. "All these people in general are just amazing."
Several hundred volunteers are joining in the effort, called "Superbuild 2009"
Some have worked on other habitat humanity projects in the past.
"It's a great feeling inside to know that you are giving back and that you are helping other folks and that you are making a difference in somebody's life," said Charles Long. "That's always a good thing."
Tampa mayor Pam Iorio said this project will leave a lasting impression, even after the athletes and fans are gone.
"We will be able to look back and pride not only that we hosted a great game and that Tampa looked great," said Iorio, but that some things were left for the better like these four homes built by habitat for humanity."
