NBC's "Today" is getting ready for a Super Bowl visit to Tampa that includes a special two-hour edition on Sunday morning with Meredith Vieira, Al Roker and Ann Curry live from Raymond James Stadium, and Matt Lauer at the White House.
Lauer will have a live interview with President Barack Obama during the pre-game show that begins at noon on NBC. More of the interview will air during the Monday "Today" show which also will feature reports from Tampa.
Some of the plans are still being worked out but NBC's "Today" show weatherman, Roker, is scheduled to be live from Seventh Avenue at 16th Street from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The public is encouraged to attend – and fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals should wear their team colors, according to NBC officials.
Vieira will join Roker on Friday to broadcast live from Tampa. And a special Saturday edition of "Today" finds Roker and NBC News' Jenna Wolfe live from NBC-owned Universal Studios in Orlando.
The festivities in Tampa will continue though Monday, with a split edition of "Today" as Vieira and Roker recap the big game from Tampa, and Matt and Ann broadcast live from New York.
During "Today's" special two-hour Super Bowl program, beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday Vieira, Roker and
Curry will take viewers behind-the-scenes look the sights, sounds, parties and food of the big game as well as the preparations that go into Super Sunday.
